Introduction
Asake stormed onto the African music scene with his debut single, Mr Money, from the album Mr Money with the Vibe in September 2022. Asake, who has been active as a music artist since 2018, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, took his stage name from his mother. His music is a combination of Afrobeats, Afrofusion and Nigerian Pop. This 30-year-old Lagos, Nigeria singer has many strings to his bow. He is a rapper, songwriter, actor, and dancer. Signed to the Apple Music label, Asake has reached number 66 on the Billboard 200 with his debut album and his second Work of Art, released in June 2023.

The Journey
Asake studied Theatre and Dramatic Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University. This grounding in the arts inspired him to pursue a music career. The song “Omo Ope” set the wheels in motion for this artist. A single featuring Olamide and the follow-up single “Sungba”. A single that Olaitan Salaudeen plugged. Signing a distribution deal with Empire in July 2022, he has taken the global stage by storm, performing sell-out concerns at the O2 Brixton Academy, which sadly led to a crowd crush and the later death of two women from their injuries.
An artist who has appeared on The Late Show and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon entwines his life experiences in his music. His trademark dance moves were born on the streets of Lagos, Nigeria, and were influenced by his dad’s classical song choice while growing up. His rhythms are spiritual.
